Job Description

Strategic Partnerships Lead of Safeguarding ChildrenLocation: LondonLength: 3 MonthsStrategic Partnerships Lead of Safeguarding ChildrenKey Responsibilities and experience required of the Strategic Partnerships Lead:

  • Provide advice and make strategic recommendations to Statutory Partners and drive the implementation of recommendations across the partnership
  • Support the partnerships to develop and disseminate safeguarding children’s policies and procedures
  • Support the Independent Chair to co-ordinate activities across the partnership to deliver on core business and strategic priorities
  • Monitor national and local policy and legislative developments, provide briefings and make relevant recommendations to incorporate new ways of working
  • Co-ordinate and promote joint planning, multi-agency projects and implementation of strategic plans between partners, the boards and with other strategic partnerships.
  • Responsible for proficient performance management systems and deliverance of quality assurance frameworks are in place and effective
  • Monitor and manage the budget for the Safeguarding Children Partnership on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that the budget is accurate, regularly updated and clearly presented
  • Oversee fee negotiation programme and co-ordinate grant disbursements to providers
  • Ensure effective business planning, monitoring and evaluation processes are in place to support and develop the business of the Safeguarding Children Partnership
  • Work in close partnership with partners and sub-groups to develop and deliver an on-going programme of multi-agency audits and action planning to improve practice in protecting children and young people
  • Develop and identify opportunities to work with a range of partners who are not represented on the partnership, particularly the local community
Desired skills and experience of the Strategic Partnerships Lead:
  • Experience at a similar level in a similar role within a Local Authority
  • Substantial knowledge of Children’s Safeguarding and legislation including awareness of national and local developments
  • Able to advise senior managers and senior leadership effectively
