A membership body/charity are seeking a Strategic Data Lead on a long term FTC (likely to go permanent). You will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing a national data strategy and roadmap to support the organisation in improving theirdata capabilities and enhancing collaboration with partners.This role is fully remote.Responsibilities:- Build and facilitate relationships with strategic and technical stakeholders from across the UK fire sector, government, industry, academia and wider public sector.- Engage with partner organisations to understand their data needs and priorities, and identify improvement and collaboration opportunities.- Define sector priorities for data and develop and implement a clear national data strategy and roadmap to support the sector in improving their data capabilities and enhancing collaboration with partners.- Directly support and act under delegated authority to the Chair of the Data Board across their leadership and governance duties.- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the wider sector against the national data strategy, and make recommendations for improvement.- Continuously improve the national data strategy and roadmap, and ensure the sector is supported in local delivery and implementation.- Provide coherent updates, reports, briefings and presentations to technical officers, strategic leadership and wider stakeholders for all aspects of strategic data activity.Experience:- Experience working within the Public/NFP sector.- Experience in a similar role with direct experience of acting as a strategic lead for data.- Proven experience of developing and embedding data strategy, culture, and services, to further mature and transform organisations into data-driven ones.- Experience in creating, running and/or delivering a data strategy and roadmap, and its adoption into an effective data-driven culture.- Proven leadership of successful data initiatives.- Experience in delivery of successful change management programmes across organisational boundaries at a national level.- Strategic thinker with proven leadership skills and operational intelligence.- Ability to demonstrate and motivate organisations to contribute to improving the local and national data culture and application of data within resources.- Experience in chairing strategic and operational meetings with internal and external partners of varying seniority and technical knowledge and skills- Stakeholder engagement and relationship management, problem solving and building trust are all essential requirements for this role
