About the team:The Lotus Assessment Suite (Psychiatric Decision Unit - PDU) is an integrated assessment suite that encompasses the Sec 136 function. It provides interim mental health care and assessment for patients referred from liaison psychiatry services, home treatment teams & street triage teams.Lotus has the ability to provide an in-depth assessment for up to a maximum of 48 hours, facilitate patients’ transfer in a timely and effective manner while maintaining the patient’s dignity, safety and satisfaction. This will ensure patients receive the right care at the right time by the right people and improve service user satisfaction. The assessment suite supports 5 patients + two 136 suites, therefore, there will be a maximum occupancy of 7 patients at any one time.About the role:The successful candidate will work with the Ward Manager, Consultant and Other members of the MDT in order to monitor and ensure high standards of care are delivered and maintained.The successful candidate will be a registered mental health nurse with some experience that would like to maximise their potential and learn the skills to be an acute psychiatric nurse and who would like to develop these skills further. The successful candidate will act as a professional role model who possesses excellent clinical skills which you will have the opportunity to use including the co-ordination of shifts and acting as a primary nurse to adults in your care. The successful candidate will have an active role in leading, motivating and inspiring the team.About the location:Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK. This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The Trust provides subsidised parking fares for all our substantive staff.
