Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse (Band 5 or 6) to join our Nursing teams located at The London Clinic’s Main hospital site in Central London (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations). We are offering competitive salaries up to £43,590 per annum, depending upon experience. Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest private hospital, with state-of-the-art facilities located on Harley Street. We have circa 1350 employees, a total of 8 premises, and our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of approx. 200 beds and 10 theatres. We cover a broad range of specialisms such as Gastro, Gynae, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology etc, including complex medical and surgical procedures and a comprehensive range of cancer and outpatient services.Job DescriptionAs a Staff Nurse you will be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and service to the patients. This includes the appropriate assessment and evaluation of care in keeping with the philosophies of the department and NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

  • Job Type: Permanent and Full-Time
  • Shifts: 37.5 hours per week (Long Days, Nights & Weekends).

  • Positions available: Option of working across several different clinical areas including; Orthopaedics & Spinal Surgery Unit; General Surgery Ward; Gynaecology; Urology & Neuroscience Unit; Digestive Diseases Unit (Gastro & Colorectal Surgery) & Plastics & Reconstruction surgery.
    • Duties & Responsibilities
  • To take responsibility for individualised patient care as the named nurse, using the Roper, Logan and Tierney model and documentation for the department.
  • To ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records and be aware of the legal implications of these
  • To promote safe practice and professional conduct.
  • To encourage good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team, to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients.
  • To be flexible with regard to staffing, i.e. deputising for Sister/ Charge Nurse or assisting in other areas or on other floors as required.
    • Skills & Experience
  • Registered Nurse - NMC registered.
  • Post registration experience in surgical nursing within an acute hospital setting.
  • Able to demonstrate high standards of clinical practice.
  • Sound and evidence-based knowledge in general nursing skills.
  • Flexible approach to working arrangements with good timekeeping.
