DESCRIPTIONThis Senior PR Manager role may be based in London or in one of the Amazon European hubs (i.e. Luxembourg, Germany, France, etc.).Amazon is seeking a high-judgement, self-motivated, and creative communications professional with an expertise in crisis comms work to join our Corporate Communications team. This individual will drive cross-channel, proactive storytelling for many of Amazon’s highest-visibility corporate narratives.The candidate will provide strategic counsel to internal business teams and senior executives, and work closely with our Public Policy team to engage with policymakers and external third-party influencers. The role includes working closely with primarily European-based technology and business reporters and other external stakeholders to show Amazon’s industry leadership across complex topics. The candidate will have experience managing and up-leveling existing story-lines to drive global news announcements. The candidate will also have experience in managing global, multi-faceted projects and nuanced issues with the press, crave autonomy and ownership, and be willing and able to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done in a high velocity environment.The successful candidate will:· Create proactive global communications programs to engage and build trust in Amazon with customers, policymakers, and industry leaders.· Deliver communications counsel to internal executives on both short- and long-term challenges and opportunities.· Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with press contacts.· Possess strong writing skills.· Show high judgment, particularly in narrow time frames.· Identify and leverage data to support storytelling efforts.· Manage cross channel communications campaigns in partnership with internal communications, social media and similar storytelling teams.· Manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges and be able to deal with ambiguity.This role will involve communications for Amazon’s online stores worldwide with a particular focus on our European stores.
