Role/ Department: The Global Framework Compliance function of Northern Trust is looking for a talented professional to join the team, to support the Global Compliance team in maintaining Rule Maps and delivering annual Compliance Risk Assessments and Compliance Monitoring Plansthat are consistently executed and maintained in step with applicable regulatory changes. This role is a unique opportunity to join a growing Compliance function. Global Framework Compliance is part of Northern Trusts Corporate Compliance function, which is entrusted with providing regulatory advice and assurance to senior management, boards, relevant committees, regulators and clients and ensuring Northern Trust meetsits regulatory obligations at all times. As part of the Corporate Compliance function, this role is to act as the dedicated Global Framework Compliance coordinator for Compliance partners (and other subject matter experts) globally, supporting them in creating and maintaining Rule Maps, ComplianceRisk Assessments and Compliance Monitoring Plans. This role is a critical role in the team as it helps ensure that Compliance officers timely deliver Rule Maps, Compliance Risk Assessments and Compliance Monitoring Plans that meet the expectations and requirementsof our auditors and regulators. This role reports to the Head of Global Framework Compliance. The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Act as the Global Framework Compliance Coordinator on Rule Maps, Compliance Risk Assessments (CRAs) and Compliance Monitoring Plans for Compliance (and relevant Risk) officers in the North America and EMEA regions. In this capacity oversee and manage thetimely delivery of entity, global practice and other practice-related Rule Maps, CRAs and Compliance Monitoring Plans.
  • Provide thought leadership to support the ongoing development of the Global Compliance Framework, focusing on creating efficiencies and opportunities to automate workstreams.
  • Work with Regulatory Change Oversight teams, both in First and Second Line, to identify regulatory changes that impact existing Rule Maps and pro-actively work with Rule Map owners to ensure Rule Maps are kept in step with the latest regulatory developments.
  • Provide training and guidance on the Global Compliance Framework.
  • Organize and chair review and sign-off sessions for Rule Maps, CRAs and Compliance Monitoring Plans, as needed.
  • Monitor the timely remediation of issues stemming from CRAs and Compliance Monitoring Plans; and
  • Deliver reporting on the Global Compliance Framework and related workstreams to Senior Management, Boards, Committees and Compliance Management for consideration.
Skills/ Qualifications:
  • Experience in the financial services industry or related experience.
  • Experience in risk management, audit, or compliance at a financial services institution.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple demands and changing priorities.
  • Detail oriented, self-starter with solid prioritization, planning, and time management skills
  • Sound judgment and an ability to make decisions quickly.
  • Strong analytical skills to conduct independent research, reach conclusions, and solve problems.
  • Excellent relationship management, influencing, negotiating, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and balance the needs of multiple functions. Demonstrated success working across countries, and regions.Experience working with senior management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with an ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner that is comprehensive, accurate, and tailored to the audience
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills. Experience in working with BWise or similar workflow tool is preferred.
