Band 6 Specialist Practitioner - North SomersetJob Ref: 342-NS004-0122Salary: Band 6 £32,306 - £39,027 paWe currently have four clinical pods situated across Bristol, with one in North Somerset. Were a rapidly expanding service with our main control podbeing situated within the South West Ambulance clinical hub/control room in Bristol. Our aim is to provide direct access to mental health services, reduce the need for S136 detention and provide a timely response, which improves the outcome and experiencefor the service user. This also allows us to reduce the demand on A&E and ambulances, improve working relationships between Police, Ambulance and health services, by offering support to our emergency service colleagues. No two days are the same within ourservice as we strive to support the 999 emergency service care pathway. We have a cohesive, passionate energetic team of professionals from various backgrounds with a range of mental health experience. Were leading nationally on innovative processes includingalternative points of conveyance, rapid first response from non-clinicians, integration into NHS 111 with an established response to all 999 services (Police, Ambulance and Fire services). We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledgeto AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.Main duties of the jobWorking as part of a multi-agency team, helping emergency service colleagues to support individuals experience mental health crisis is incredibly rewarding.You will be working alongside Police andAmbulance services and be triaging people of all ages whether they have a learning disability, personality disorder, substance misuse or other mental health issue at the first point of contact. You would be providing street triage attendance where indicated,assessments and support over the telephone as well as a chance to work within the Ambulance control room. If you are a mental health professional (nurse, social worker or occupational therapist) who is able to work with people experiencing mental health crisisand extreme emotional distress, we would love to hear from you.
