Wed like someone withextensive hands-on JavaScript software engineering skills, but whos also run hiring processes and managed the onboarding and integration of fellow engineers into the team.* Wed expect this person to have at least 5 years of development experience and 2 yearsof engineering management experience but if you have less and think youd fit this role well, please apply. We value adaptability and the ability to learn quickly over years of experience.* Like most start-ups, we need a specialising generalist who is comfortableacross many scenarios and responsibilitiestechnical hiring and engineering management as well as the hands on engineering of robust software.* Were looking for someone who has a start-up mentality, who is excited to move fast, innovate and challenge assumptions.*The successful candidate will have a good balance of a strong technical mindset with a pragmatic approach to engineering and engineering management; someone who is focussed on output whilst fostering a highly collaborative team culture and productive environment.*Initially, youll be working as part of a focussed product and engineering leadership team, reporting to our Head of Engineering.* Were looking for someone that has good awareness of using JavaScript across the stack and can turn their hand to developmentwhen needed, but who is passionate about building product and engineering teams that deliver quality software at pace and who can challenge us to foster a user-centred culture within the company.* Youll have a strong knowledge and appreciation of the softwaredevelopment lifecycle, and know how to work closely with all members of a cross functional product team.* Youll be approachable and highly collaborative; willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, creating and exchanging ideas in order to find solutionsto technical and business challenges. At the same time, youll be comfortable working under pressure in order to meet sometimes tight deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work.*About the role:*Right now, were at an early stage of the process, andwhilst weve decided on key features and the basic interface for our MVP, weve got a lot of work to do in building our team and the foundations of the platform. The role will require you to:* Manage all aspects of day-to-day resourcing for both contract andpermanent members of the team.* Report directly to the Head of Product and Head of Engineering with regards to all matters relating to resourcing and hiring across the product team.* Design and operate end-to-end technical hiring processes, predominantly forsoftware engineers but also supporting hiring in other areas of the product team (design, QA, delivery, product management etc.).* Carry out interviews, review and rate technical task submissions, integrate other team members to the hiring processes, providecandidate feedback and make hiring recommendations to the wider team and stakeholders.* Act as an advocate for the company, articulating the company mission to candidates and promoting the opportunity of working at the business throughout hiring processes.*Onboard and integrate new hires to the team, ensuring they have a smooth entry ramp to joining the business and that their developer experience is efficient and enjoyable.* Monitor and manage overall team satisfaction and feedback through regular check-insand consultations.* Support other members of the team with learning, development and career progression.* Support the growth and development of our overall product and engineering capability by establishing a positive culture along with robust practices andprocesses that allow us to scale quickly and consistently, whilst maintaining appropriate levels of quality in all respects.* Have a strong core skill set revolving around JavaScript frameworks and tools, including React, TypeScript and Node.js, along withJavaScript site generators like Gatsby and NextJS.* Be ready to pitch in with hands-on engineering and development tasks when your capacity is not entirely consumed with hiring and resource management.-* Mission driven public benefit start up* Remote working*MacBook* Zoom call* Technical / management task* Technical Interview* Final Interview* OfferManagement, Building Teams, JavaScript, React, Node.jsJavaScript, React, Node.js, Typescript, AWS, PostgreSQL
