Software Engineer - US Originations @ Funding Circle The Engineering Team at Funding Circle USA is ~40 strong. We are based in the UK (London and Remote), Bulgaria, Uruguay, and India. We run a separate stack from the UK side of Funding Circle, but benefit from shared support from our InfoSec, Platform & SRE teams. We work UK hours but collaborate with the business teams in Denver & San Francisco. For London-based roles, our head-quarters is at the heart of the city near St Pauls Cathedral and a mere 30 seconds walk from the Mansion House station. We are split across 3 domains: Originations (accepting & assessing applications), Servicing (allocating loans to investors and collecting repayments), and Data (managing and providing access to our data). We primarily use Ruby in Originations, Clojure in Servicing, Python in Data. We are all heavy users of AWS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Postgres, CircleCI, Docker, Quay.io, with many supporting technologies such as Grafana and Prometheus. We also use Salesforce heavilywithin the business and have 2 teams dedicated to this. You do not need to be well versed in these specific tools & technologies to apply. The role This role as a Software Engineer sits within one of 4 teams within the Originations domain in US Engineering. You will be an integral part of one of these teams, but we expect the flexibility and willingness to learn from and contribute along with allthe others in a cross-functional environment. What will you be thinking about We are in the process of scaling up the business, the team, and a legacy codebase. We expect people to pioneer incremental but strategic change, envision novel processes for automated credit decisions, take ownership of delivering initiatives end-to-end, andcontribute to a data-driven culture that empowers product and engineering.
