Job Description

About the role Tesco Online is used by tens of millions of shoppers across the world to do their online grocery shopping. One Account provides a unified onboarding and account management experience for Tesco Online customers. Our applications operate at scale and handle tens of millions of requests each day. We do multiple deployments per day and use automated testing extensively.As a Full Stack Front-End Engineer, you’ll be working in an agile team to deliver Tesco’s next generation of customer onboarding and account management experiences. You’ll put security and good customer experience at the heart of your decision-making processes.You’ll have experience in using Docker, Kubernetes and Azure and be willing to work on activities ranging from creating new CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps to reviewing and making improvements to how our applications are hosted on Azure.Some of the tech we are using at scale: Azure, ES6+, React, Node, Docker, Kubernetes, Cypress, Azure DevOps, Terraform You will be responsible for

  • Use your in-depth knowledge of JavaScript, React and Node and to develop frontend systems
  • Create and update Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Be involved in the full DevSecOps life cycle: design, coding, test, build, QA, deployment and monitoring
  • Work effectively with product and engineering management to translate requirements into well-defined stories
  • Lead group discussions on system design and understand domain well enough to work with Product Managers to drive value
  • Support production systems, resolve incidents and perform root cause analysis
    • You will need
  • 5+ Years commercial experience as a Software Developer
  • Expert understanding of React and experience using Jest, Cypress and Mocha.
  • Expert understanding of using Node.js to create high traffic applications using Express.js or similar
  • Expert understanding of industry standard web accessibility, web design & usability; to support sites cross browser/platform/device
  • Experience in working with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience in bringing responsive and adaptive web designs to life
  • Experience in working with REST API endpoints
  • Experience working on high traffic web applications
  • Understanding of DevSecOps/DevOps model
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code and exposure to Terraform, Helm Charts and YAML
