I’m seeking a permanent Software Developer for a software provider for the financial services industry. They’re looking for someone to take ownership over an application, maintain it for the next 6-12 months with continuous improvement before migrating it entirely to modern microservices.The companyThis well-established business specialises in bespoke solutions and provides an unrivalled edge to businesses within the financial services industry. Their solutions modernise difficult business systems and have proved intrinsic to many organisations over the past few years and particularly over the lockdown period.The roleAs a Software Developer, you’ll be taking ownership of an application that is current built in Coldfusion and Java. You won’t need to have coldfusion experience necessarily but strong OOP and Java experience would be great. You’ll be building new features and components to refresh the application and integrate it with web services.You’ll be improving the systems performance, refactoring and making proactive adjustments. You’ll also be collaborating with cross-functional team members to analyse system solutions based on evolving client requirements. After 6-12 months of continuous maintenance and growth, you’ll get the chance to migrate this application into modern technologies like Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular etc.You don’t have to have experience with microservices as they offer fantastic training for these technologies that you would use in the role.Skills required as a Software Developer
