Job Description

SLD Teaching Assistant - SouthwarkUp to £90 per dayImmediate StartI am currently looking for a passionate and hard-working SLD Teaching Assistant to join a prestigious SEN school in the London Borough of Southwark. This is a full-time position to start immediately.About the School

  • Located in London Borough of Southwark
  • Specialist SEN school for children ages 11-19
  • Provides a creative, fun and playful learning environment
  • 8:30am to 16:15pm working hours
  • A friendly and supportive staff members
  • Fantastic facilities available
  • Relevant Training and CPD available
Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting children with different SEN needs such as Learning Disabilities (SLD), Autistic (ASD).
  • Interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities
  • Providing a creative and stimulating learning environment
  • Assisting with personal care (feeding and toileting)
About the pupils needs
  • May be non-verbal or have Speech and Lanugage Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Require supports with daily activities
  • Often diagnosed with Autism/ASC or Prader-Willi Syndrome, etc
  • Development delay
  • May have challenging behaviour
About You
  • Have a genuine interest and passion for special education
  • Have transferable skills
  • Willing to learn
  • Has a positive and can-do attitude
  • Have good communication skills
  • Fully committed to working in special education
