MMP are recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Technician to work for a large NHS Trust based in Central London working 42 hours a week on a 6 month contract paying around £19 an hour limited.The successful candidate must ideally be qualified in both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines and hold the following qualifications - Registered E.I.T.B. or C.I.T.B Apprenticeship Electrical or Mechanical or City and Guilds Level 3 or 17th/18th Edition.Shift pattern is as follows:12hrs shift from 7am to 7pm 4 days4 days off12hrs shift from 7pm to 7am 4 nights4days offMain duties include To work in accordance with the requirements of HTMs, HBNs, latest edition of the Wiring Regulations BS7671, health and safety regulations/guidelines and Trusts health and safety polices. Test, diagnose and repair faults on engineering and/or electrical and plumbing installations, plant and equipment, to deal with new situations as they arise and pass on knowledge to others. Undertake fault-finding on all critical systems and equipment. Using "cause effect analysis" and detailed examination to gain a solution. Use of the Building Management System where appropriate. Undertake general maintenance and installation work on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment at the request of Trust maintenance management team. To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment. MechanicalTo be conversant with domestic hot water, mains cold water, plumbing, high temperature hot water heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and steam heating systems. To be fully conversant with all types of pumps, circulation systems, belt drives, pulleys and direct drive systems. To work on, diagnose faults and repair medical oil free and reciprocating control air compressors, and vacuum plant (with relevant training and approval). To be conversant with chemical dosing systems and water treatment plants and be aware of the latest Legionellae guidance. To carry out specialist repairs on larger items of plant such as high pressure industrial steam boilers and chiller plant, autoclaves, air conditioning, microprocessor controlled equipment, also general domestic repairs. ElectricalBe able to work safely on standby electrical systems such as 400V generators and UPS systems. Undertakes inspection and commissioning tests for the installation and issues the appropriate completion certificates. Activate power changeover plant and be able to safely isolate from generators or local network in the event of a malfunction. Interprets and follows the IEE Wiring Regulations for Electrical Installations (BS7671) regulations at all times. It is sometimes necessary to close vacancies before the closing date.
