Job Description

Service Continuity Lead - BCM, DR, CloudWe are excited to go live with an exciting and challenging new role with a fast-growing market leader as they continue their impressive growth. Managing a well established and stable team with short term plans for growth, you will play a lead role in buildingout a new and improved disaster recovery function.Managing all functions across Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery and all ISO areas, you will play a key role in defining long term strategy for this area. We are looking for candidates with good working knowledge across cloud and on prem technologywith focus on PaaS, IaaS and SaaS.Key areas of the role include -

  • The IT Service Continuity Lead will ensure appropriate processes and procedures are created, embedded, add value and continually developed the effective provision of all IT Service Continuity responsibilities with accountability for their success or improvementpaths.
  • The role will be responsible for developing, embedding and managing the IT Service Continuity operating processes, implementing the required mechanisms to improve incident identification, reduce incidents and recovery times and ultimately improve the stabilityand performance of IT services.
  • Responsible for supporting the design, delivery and execution of solutions and services within the IT Disaster Recovery and Technology Resilience across all business areas and processes.
  • Acting as the lead for IT Recovery Actions in the event of a ITSC event
  • The role will be responsible for driving ITSCM adoption and the roadmap for IT and as such driving technical solutions and understanding in line with our current appetite, regulatory stance and customer centricity, with a key goal being ensuring a knownposition and momentum is held across all business elements.
  • High availability and resilience of our technology is critical to business continuity and the on-going success. You will establish, own and manage the IT Service Continuity process and associated activities, ensuring that the technology can always provideminimum agreed business continuity related service levels. The role requires proficiency in the technical knowledge of IT recovery and service continuity management, analysing risks, creating and running disaster recovery plans and executing continuity & recoverytests.
  • Reporting to the IT Service Control Lead you will be the SME for IT Service Continuity & Disaster Recovery within the team, developing, implementing & testing IT resilience plans/processes.
  • Embraces and drives a continuous learning culture where the development of new skills and knowledge is paramount to the success of their role and career.
  • Commits to involvement in regular performance and development conversations with their line manager and embraces a culture of in-time feedback and coaching.
  • Develop and maintain the IT Service Continuity Management framework and ensure alignment to the Business Continuity Management Programme
  • Act as IT Service Continuity champion throughout the business to ensure that activities that may affect service continuity are captured, considered and have the appropriate feeds into the continuity and the recovery plans as well as ensure that all DisasterRecovery contractual requirements are met. Drive continuity to leverage cloud-based solutions or appropriate technology to drive a digital customer experience and minimal reliance on traditional infrastructure and data centric solutions.
  • Identify, assess, track and mitigate all IT Service Continuity risks and issues, showing telemetry and transition plans to address. Maintain and drive an appropriate backlog to address this.
  • Ensure that all new services and solutions are developed with continuity and disaster recovery centricity at the outset to ensure the customer journey and good customer outcomes are at the heart of them.
  • Continually review DR and IT Service Continuity processes, implement improvements, and ensure they meet business requirements with understood cost-effective solutions.
  • Ensure DR plans and associated processes are in place to enable successful DR tests and live invocations that support Business Continuity Plans
  • Ensure DR plans are frequently validated through a testing programme, with published MI to drive awareness and improvements.
  • Identify gaps between IT resilience and the business appetite and push corrective actions to mitigate risks
  • Work closely with IT, Business Continuity, Project Management and Change Management to ensure engagement and consultation on any potential impacts to service continuity.
We are looking for specific experience in a number of areas -
  • Management experience including developing staff, appraisals and performance management
  • Expert level knowledge of ISO20000 / 22301 with practical experience of implementation and accreditation
  • Experience running a continuity work stream, team or service
  • Proven experience of working within with ITIL aligned processes
  • Proven experience of delivering service transformation aligned to business Value
  • Proven experience of successful process implementation / improvement initiatives through iterative change and automation.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing Tier 1 & 2 Service Providers
  • Demonstrable experience in creating formal large change documentation e.g. Transformation plans / roadmaps/ business cases with an Architectural stance
  • Subject Matter Expert in IT Services and Systems offering recovery and resilience services such as VMware, Cloud technologys (SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS), Comvault / equivalent backup software.
  • Previous experience in a Service Continuity Role.
  • Experience in BCM
  • DevOps framework knowledge and experience
  • ITIL V3 Foundation
