Service Company Accountant 12mth Fixed Term Contract Colchester based with home working We are looking for an Accountant with excellent reconciliation skills and a track record of end2end accounting processes to join our Syndicate finance team. Your rolewill range from accounting entries through to legal entity statutory and management reporting. Youll be supporting the legal entity and management accounting for two of our insurance intermediaries, one of which is based in the UK and the other in the US(Miami). Your communication skills will be essential in this post as you will be speaking to a wide audience ranging from AP through to our London Market Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO).Key responsibilities Regular posting of accounting journals Month, Quarterand Year End reporting Accounts, banks and systems reconciliations Intercompany postings and reconciliations Balance sheet postings and reconciliations Management reporting Ensure compliance with local GAAP or IFRS standards Legal entity reporting includingdealing with audit requests Production of annual Statutory accounts Create and/or review processes and internal documentation Adhere to the financial control framework and timetable Analysis and preparation of management information reports as requested Representthe division as required in group projects and initiatives Skills & Experience Qualified Accountant In an ideal world, experience in the insurance industry but this isnt a prerequisite here. However, experience of large complex environments would be beneficial.Strong reconciliations experience. Focused attention to detail and accuracy Structured and autonomous working style while also being happy to work as part of a larger finance team Results driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a very fastpaced environment where the pace and quality of response are critical to success Ability to organise, prioritise and plan workload to meet deadlines Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships in and outside Hiscox andmanage different levels of stakeholders Diversity and Working Patterns At Hiscox we care about our people.
