The City & Capital Group are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly respected lender of specialist property finance who have retained our services in order to appoint an experienced, confident and diligent Senior Underwriter to their growing team.This is a key appointment for the lender at an extremely busy time, driven by increased investment and impressive new funding lines. Naturally this has led to an increase in applications and therefore the lender is keen to identify and appoint an individual who has the requisite experience to hit the ground running.Our client operates with great success in the short term property finance market and are preparing for their launch in to the BTL market at the end of this year. Therefore they are keen to consider individuals with senior experience within any area of specialist mortgages (bridging, development, BTL, commercial) whereby you can demonstrate a clear track record underwriting or credit risk and where commercial underwriting principles are key. The lender is renowned for fast turnaround loans of up to £30m across residential and commercial property assets.Due to this the ideal individual will have an excellent knowledge of credit risk principles and must be comfortable working within a fast faced and dynamic environment. The ideal individual will be able to work in Mayfair, W1 between Monday and Friday each week.Within the role you will work closely with the businesses BDM’s to support their originated deals from a credit management perspective. You will manage and maintain a pipeline of activity to ensure loans are assessed and actioned in line with SLA’s. This may include joining credit committee meetings and actively influencing sanctioning decisions to the highest level. It is expected that you may also assist on deals post funding’ where required to ensure that credit management is optimised throughout the life of a loan or portfolio.You will be ably supported by an excellent team of Junior Underwriters, Case Managers and Loans Administrators. Confidence in dealing with brokers and direct with borrowers is also key for the ideal individual for this position.The salary on offer is up to c£65k, which will be relevant to experience and performance at interview, as you would expect.
