Job Description

Job DescriptionI am working with an exciting tech business who are hiring for an experienced Systems Administrator with a strong Linux background, who is familiar with traditional system admin of physical servers as well as networks. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the fundamentals as well as show a willingness to learn new skills and develop into a DevOps role.Role & Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing infrastructure including network devices and firewalls - Rancher/Docker/K8s, Nutanix/KVM, monitoring/logging/auditing Nagios/Grafana/Prometheus/ELK, Puppet orchestration.
  • Identify, implement and constantly improve automation processes.
  • Proactively manage, monitor and resolve day to day operational issues to maximise uptime and availability of the systems.
  • Help development and business analyst team with deployments and automation.
    • Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience with multiple flavours of Unix/Linux.
  • 5+ years working as a sysadmin or similar with small, medium or enterprise infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like bash and python.
  • Experience with virtualisation and cloud technologies such as Nutanix, AWS, GCP, etc.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Networking skills and competency from Layer 2 to Layer 7.Strong security skills including firewall experience.
  • The ability to develop creative solutions to problems, complex and mundane.
  • Aptitude when it comes to team collaboration whilst also able to work alone.
  • Understanding of DevOps methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of technical expertise and seniority, inside and outside the organisation - both verbally and written.
