Aspen ward is a Frailty admission unit under the care of the elderly directorate , situated on the 5th floor in the Riverside Building on the Lewisham Hospital site as part of the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The ward has 20 beds providing high quality medical and nursing assessment using the frailty model for patients over 75 years.We are looking for an individual who is passionate, motivated and enthusiastic about care of the elderly patients with experience to leader and manage junior nurses with the support of the Ward Manager and Matron. A senior nurse who will work to together for patients and colleagues, work as a team to improve quality and safety with respect and compassion for high quality nursing care to our patients.Must have at least 18 months Band 5 experience in an acute medicine or care of the elderly setting.Ability to provide leadership, management and effective role modelling to drive the team to make improvements together.To be an active participant in the drive for excellence in the delivery of care of the elder and frailty for the patients care.To lead on clinical audit reporting, action planning and leading the team to ensuring service improvement on a daily basis.To be able to manage and support a team, deputise for the ward manager in their absence and provide senior management for workforce related issues.As a senior staff nurse you will be supported in all areas of your personal and professional development.
