The Ticker Plant system is a central hub of the Bloomberg market data infrastructure, processing daily volumes of several hundred billions of real time market events across 100 million instruments. The events originating in the Ticker Plant ultimatelydrive every financial function on the Bloomberg Terminal and, through a range of Bloomberg Enterprise solutions, feed into trading and analytics back end platforms of major financial institutions worldwide. The Data Content area within Ticker Plant focuses on APIs, systems and services which transform, enrich, store and publish these market data events, relying on externally provided middleware and persistence technology solutions. Data Content is comprised ofseveral functional teams located across the Bloomberg New York, London and Hong Kong offices, each focusing on different aspects of the system. We work on projects ranging from introducing new market data sources into the Ticker Plant, to architectural modernization, to workflow and process automation. We are constantly investing in business logic processing times reduction and structural improvementsof the systems internals, its APIs and data representation - all to provide greater flexibility and reduce features time to market without sacrificing real time performance. In the area of workflow automation, we are pivoting towards an API-first approachto Ticker Plants configuration services, redefining them in terms of programmatic APIs as a next step towards greater automation and efficiency. In the area of SDLC, we are investing in building a CI/CD pipeline, backed up by fully automated test execution. Due to the centrality of the Ticker Plant to Bloombergs business, all of the above efforts have profound impact across our Market Data products offerings, thus directly contributing to the companys bottom line. We work primarily in C++ and Python, leveraginga range of open source and bespoke software packages. We are open to applicants without prior experience in these languages, who possess solid software engineering background in similar technologies. Youll need to have:- Demonstrated commercial programming experience with Python, C++ or other Object-Oriented languages.
