We offer flexible working hours around the 9-5 and are a very family friendly company.About the roleAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will work in a feature team within the Enterprise Risk Platform to deliver the highest quality software whilst continually challenging, mentoring and supporting other engineers within the team.You will be responsible for the analysis, design and development of software solutions delivering new features to an in-house full-stack application consisting of front-end UI (JS React), microservices (Java Spring Boot) and big data execution and help drivethe migration to cloud.The pace and scale of change taking place requires a passion for new thinking, new ideas and continuous improvement, as well as a flexible approach when interacting with wider teams. You will work with other feature teams to deliver change ensuring thatsolutions are built in a consistent way utilising best practices from the wider Engineering community.As part of our Engineering team:
  • You will operate collaboratively, be a change pioneer with a passion for working to help people and teams deliver their best work and provide technical leadership with clear and constructive feedback.
  • You will be championing DevOps and automation for CI/CD as we shape our Bank of the Future.
  • You will work with the Product Owner to analyse and evaluate the feasibility of complex proposals to identify solutions that best meet business needs.
  • You will keep abreast of key technical developments and innovations within the industry and encourage other engineers to do the same.
About You- Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience We believe that people dont fit neatly into roles, and we value everyones individual skills, experience, and knowledgeits what makes you phenomenal. As such, we encourage applications from different backgrounds, as a minimum however, you should beable to demonstrate:Technical
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an Engineer in Software Development.
  • Experience developing RESTful microservices in Java with Spring Boot and/or front-end with JavaScript React.
  • Hands on experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment strategies using tooling such as GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, Urban Code, Docker, Terraform and Spinnaker.
  • Other desirable skills include Python, Hadoop and cloud-based application development.

  • Show well-developed interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, in particular the ability to convey key information arising from complex issues to non-technical people.
