Job Description

Today we employ over 6,000 people across North America, Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, India and Asia Pacific.The opportunityBe a part of our project management consultancy business that spans our five global hubs, where you can oversee work for world leading organisations across the public and private sectors.The senior risk manager ensures that effective processes are in place to identify, control and report risk within the station project.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement a risk management process to be applied at the project level.
  • Providing advice and guidance to senior managers and project managers in the application of the process and on the classification of programme and project level risks.
  • Ensuring that the process is understood and fully utilised so that risks are effectively recognised and managed.
  • Providing support to the senior management in the administration of the risk management process at the project level, particularly with respect to risks to the achievement of business benefits and the ability of other sub-programmes and projects to meet their objectives.
  • Facilitating risk management workshops where required.
  • Looking across the project as a whole and assist the senior managers to recognise opportunities to minimise risk through inter-project cooperation and synergy.
  • Ensuring that risk mitigation action plans are developed and that risk owner is appointed for all major risks to the project.
  • Ensure that programme and project plans are updated accordingly and monitor implementation of the action plans developed.
  • Directing the regular application of project-level QRA and comment on the adequacy of contingency as part of the regular reporting cycle.
  • Providing risk reports for monthly reporting cycle.
    • About you
  • A degree educated with professional risk qualification or accreditation e.g. IRM/APM.
  • With a certification in IRM.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience of risk management.
  • Previous experience of large projects (value £100m plus).
  • Experience of employment in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management tools and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of construction projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form working relationships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and facilitate risk reviews.
  • Ability to present complex information simply.
