Job Description

We believe that wherever learning flourishes so do people.We are looking for an experienced IT Release Manager with extensive software deployment experience in a global technology development environment.The IT Release Manager is responsible for driving and coordinating Pearson IT project releases and daily support releases for multiple application platforms. In this role the individual will work closely with IT development teams, IT operation teams, business, and IT program managers for the successful delivery of releases.Responsibilities

  • Create annual release cycles to support projects, upgrades, and daily support activities.
  • Manage release schedules and milestones while partnering with global, cross-functional business and IT teams.
  • Drive planning & delivery of IT software releases.
  • Build or enhance existing release management processes as needed.
  • Manage deployments and system outages in a pro-active manner with run books and communications.
  • Define, manage, and measure release deployments and report back to the management in a timely manner.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and remove roadblocks for releases.
  • Lead the Root Cause Analysis discussions and guide the completion of root cause analysis in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with DBA, infrastructure, and 3rd party vendors to plan and provision technical environments for software releases.

  • Knowledge on Jira, ServiceNow, Kintana, PVCS, Oracle ERP, Hyperion etc.
  • IT Release Management experience in an enterprise IT application development environments.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in working in a large global environment, with pressing needs.
  • Experience working with 3rd party cloud software providers in addition to on-prem applications.
  • Flexibility to work with both Agile and Waterfall deployments.
  • Experience in overseeing the work of offshore resources.
