The programme has been running since 2016 and is now funded until March 2025 to improve global health security and strengthen public health activity in the UKOTs (Anguilla, Ascension Island, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat,Pitcairn, St Helena, Tristan da Cunha and Turks and Caicos Islands). This will be achieved through increased compliance with the International Health Regulations (IHR) and WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) as well as tackling mental health,obesity, non-communicable diseases, health of people in contact with the justice system, all underpinned by improving workforce development in the UKOTs.The UKOTs Programme has an exciting vacancy for a Senior Programme Officer in the programme management team. The post holder will play a critical role in the management and delivery of activity of the programme. The post holder will work alongside the ProgrammeManagement Lead to help plan, coordinate and manage a range of tasks and projects.The role is extremely varied and rewarding. It requires someone with proven communication, project management, finance, IT and time management skills. An interest in global health issues and experience of working on international programmes are highly desirable.Occasional international travel may be required.Job descriptionProviding direct support to the Programme Management Lead and programme team in the delivery of the UKOTs Programme, leading on and project managing specific strands as directed, working with other members of the team, and building and maintaining relationshipswith international and UK partners to deliver on the programme.This will include taking responsibility for:
