Job Description

Senior Production Database Administrator Location: UK Flexible (with the opportunity to work between a BRC office and home) Hours: 35 Hours per week Contract type: Permanent Salary: circa £43,000 per annum (plus Inner London Weighting £3,344 where applicable)Are you a Database Administrator looking for a role within an organisation where you can make a real difference to peoples lives Do you have a strong understanding and experience of Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Databases We have a fantastic opportunityfor a Senior Production Database Administrator to join our Team. About the Team As Senior Production Database Administrator you will join the Database and Application Management team who are primarily responsible providing data services to the organisationincluding support, development and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server & Azure databases, business intelligence, ETL systems, as well as administration of SAS solutions and exposure to BizTalk and Azure Integration Services. About the role This role is a keypost within the team and you will be primarily responsible for the support, maintenance and development of SQL databases, business intelligence and data warehouse services. You will also have the opportunity to work in Azure, gaining experience with new technologiesand supporting new services developed as part of our 2030 strategy. Key responsibilities: Act as Technical Expert to recommendations for the direction of database services within BRC based on the internal and external technology landscape Develop and maintainthe SQL Server database administration strategy, including specialisms such as backups, index maintenance, security policy, file group management, partitioning and query optimisation. Provide technical leadership and play an active role in strategic corporateprojects collaborating with the Architecture and the PMO functions to design new solutions and implement these. Proactively develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, suppliers and external partners. Leads on workwith stakeholders in the Project and Support teams to implement new initiatives in the database area. Collaborates with Information Governance and IT Security and follows industry best practice to ensure GDPR compliancy as well as security and accessibilityof the data.
