Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced PR & Communications Manager. Reporting to the Director of PR & Communications, you will be responsible for formulating, coordinating and executing communications and media relations strategies for cross-practiceand industry-related initiatives. This position will be responsible for creating greater industry awareness and overall positioning of the firms connected legal services provided to clients. By doing so, this position will drive the development of compellingmarketing and thought leadership content in these areas. You will work closely with the lead partners across these initiatives to identify key experiences and related business issues/topics, and then will supervise the execution of profile-raising initiativesand the related content with other contributing members of the marketing, brand/creative, business development, and strategy professional staff teams.Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing end-to-end execution of profile-raising campaigns, including theme development (via competitive research and market analysis), content creation, and charting appropriate dissemination across all of the firms relevant communication vehicles, includingbut not limited to direct client mailers, web, media, social, etc.
  • Overseeing all related profile-raising efforts for these initiatives, including securing media placements to position the firm and lawyers as leaders in their field.
  • Composing, editing and formulating communications.
  • Maintaining an ability to respond quickly to current events with a strong sense of urgency and presents insightful interpretations and corresponding recommendations for action and public relations posturing.
  • Establishes campaign goals, as well as set project schedules and deadlines.
  • Tracking progress and work with the digital team to report metrics in order to evaluate the impact of the campaigns.
  • Collaborating with the firms Directories & Recognitions team on pertinent ranking opportunities for these initiatives.
  • Leading by example as a good firm citizen and team player; establishing clear expectations; setting direction and priorities; ensuring that work levels are balanced among all staff; resolving internal staff issues in a timely manner; keeping staff informedof all appropriate information; building effective team; delegates at appropriate level
  • Facilitating the development of staff by providing opportunities and support; providing timely feedback on work product; regularly coaching, evaluating, and recognising staff performance and accomplishments.
Desired candidates will have:
  • a Bachelors Degree in a related marketing, communications or journalism discipline (advanced degree preferred); and,
  • a minimum of eight years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience; or,
  • an equivalent combination of education and experience.
