We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Policy & Technical Manager, ideally a CPFA, to join our Policy and Technical team. You will support and develop the ambitious professional work of the Institute to lead on public financial management in a global environment.A specific requirement will be to assist the Head of Policy & Technical to be an agent for change in helping to drive the Institute’s international ambitions, balancing UK and international needs, and implementing delivery models to meet these ambitions.As well as contributing to the development of international standards, we provide specific support to standard setting in local government, accounting, charities accounting, internal audit and public financial management and governance.Help us build trust in public financeSenior Policy and Technical Manager Responsibilities:- Developing and writing CIPFA policy positions, standards, professional guidance, publications, commentary and thought leadership pieces.- Assisting in the development and contribution to a proactive programme of technical development which positions CIPFA as a leading provider of public financial management expertise.- Managing the technical team to deliver secretariat support to identified accounting standards bodies and to CIPFA faculties, panels and boards as required.- Representing CIPFA on national and international standard setting bodies and representative groups giving expert advice and subject leadership.Senior Policy and Technical Manager Requirements:You will be dynamic, confident, and driven with excellent interpersonal skills.
