Senior Oracle Engineer Technology underpins our entire business. RFT is the technology partner to the Risk divisions of Credit Risk, Market Risk and Non-Financial Risk. This includes definition of the IT strategy and provision of solutions to allow Risk to manage all aspects of risk from the analysis of counterparty creditrisk to the protection of the Banks infrastructure and information. You will work as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team. You will bring an innovative approach to software development, focusing on using the latest technologies and practices, as part of a relentless focus on business value. Your key responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of enterprise software solutions and mentor junior members of the team in development processes and best-practices
  • Work closely with business owners, domain/data architects and engineers to ensure optimal design of data structures to support dashboards, reporting and analytical datasets for Credit Risk reporting and Analytics
  • Exhibit and drive agile behaviors across a global team with focus on understanding and delivering business value
  • Manage stakeholder expectations through regular and transparent communications of status and risks, issues and dependencies
  • Design and develop performant ETL processes in line with strategic architecture and tools
  • Participate and resolve findings in code reviews (4 eyes principle) of developed source code
  • Verify integrated software components by automated unit tests and integrated software testing according to the software test plan.
  • Measure and analyze code for quality and performance
  • Support creation of Software Product Training Materials, Software Product User Guides, and Software Product Deployment Instructions
Your skills and qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle 11g/12c and RDBMS
  • Detailed understanding of Data Warehousing Design Methodology, Data Warehouse Concepts, Database design/architecture
  • Deep technical skills in the areas of Oracle development incl.PL/SQL, performance tuning, DBA
  • Unix Scripting skills
  • Previous experience working with multi-terabyte data warehouses / data marts, ideally Oracle.
  • Experience of working in an Agile Development team practicing (SCRUM), KANBAN, XP. Familiarisation with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) delivery methodology concepts
  • Experience building and working with continuous integration, deployment and automated test environments
  • Rigorous, resourceful, adaptable with good attention to detail and strong project ownership
  • Experience in performance testing of large applications: Defining strategies for stress, concurrency and volume test and execution of those.
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence Tools ideally Business Objects and/or Tableau
  • Practical knowledge of Git, JIRA, Bit Bucket, Team City and uDeploy tools
  • Knowledge of big data and advanced analytics space
  • Strong and successful background in investment banking (preferable in Credit Risk) as well as cross product or regulatory knowledge would be beneficial
  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
