Senior Night Auditor

Job Description

Our client, a city-based hotel, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and approachable Senior level Night Auditor to work alongside and instead of the hotel Manager, when required. You will come on board with knowledge of opera to join the friendly Frontof House team. As a Senior Night Auditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective running of day-to-day operations in Reception, maintaining high standards at all times.Located next to The Shard,and the Square Mile. Their prime location makes them a convenient choice for city guests and business travellers seeking an exceptional experience.Responsibilities:As a Senior Night Auditor, you will be responsible for:

• Welcoming guests on their arrival, using their names and assisting with registration
• Allocating rooms and directing guests to elevators
• Assisting guests during their stay, addressing any comments or concerns promptly
• Checking guests in/out and handling payments accurately
• Taking full responsibility for your individual float and reporting any shortages immediately
• Assisting the Night Manager with night auditing and preparing reports for the next day
• Covering Night Manager’s absence and holidays as required
• Handling guest complaints and assisting the Night Manager as needed
• Inputting/actioning urgent reservations or inquiries
• Responding to email inquiries in a timely manner
• Upselling to maximize room revenue
• Covering the switchboard at all times, answering calls within 4 rings
• Ensuring a full handover is passed on to the next shift
• Adhering to company policies, health and safety regulations, and fire procedures
• Maintaining high standards of grooming and cleanliness in public areas
• Supporting and overseeing the training of receptionists and the night team
• Transporting guests luggage to and from their rooms promptly and safely
• Issuing correct receipts and maintaining a luggage record book
• Assisting guests with taxi requests and delivering mail, messages, faxes, and packages to rooms
• Developing local knowledge to recommend shops, places of interest, and dining options
• Performing housekeeping duties if/when required
• Providing light room service and serving beverages upon request
• Ordering newspapers and delivering them to rooms when required
• Conducting floor walks/security checks
• Collecting breakfast cards from room doors

Personal Specification:

• Positive attitude and good communication skills
• Working knowledge of Opera switchboard system
• Previous experience in front end customer service/reception role
• Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
