Senior Manager - Risk Advisory

Our Risk Advisory practice is looking to support in the continue evolution of the established Risk Advisory team. The role will work closely with the Partner and Director to build on the capacity and capability of the Risk Advisory team to support our clientsin delivering internal audit, risk management and controls assurance solutions. The team provides a broad range of assurance and advisory activities to help our clients manage the risk over their business processes. We seek broad experience of risk and control, from controls assurance to controls transformation, risk-based internal audit to risk managementguidance and advice, individuals who have a strong methodological base.You will be joining a growing and ambitious professional services team with a strong emphasis on its people and their development. You will work with some of the UKs most interesting companies and will have a role in developing the future of our Risk Advisorypractice, working in collaboration within Assurance and Business Services and the wider Evelyn Partners, sharing of ideas, developing solutions. The role will be based in London but will operate nationally.Key aspects and responsibilities of the role will include:Business/Practice Development

• To provide support on the development of service propositions.
• To support and lead on developing responses to invitations to tender. Bringing innovation to develop new approaches to tendering for work.
• Have/build extensive network (internal and external) and look to develop an opportunity pipeline.
• To play a supporting role in the development of the team and our internal audit, GRC, ERM propositions and work to develop campaigns to raise market awareness and build network.

Client Relationship

• Have a role in building strong client relationships, ensure they receive an efficient and proactive service and that client expectations are met.
• To add value to the client relationship, identifying and developing opportunities to improve the clients businesses and/or develop additional services for Evelyn Partners.
• Lead and deliver client engagements and assignments, ensuring exceptional client service.

Technical

• Leading and delivering high quality internal audit engagements across a broad client base.
• Leading project teams and developing junior team members to reach their potential.
• Awareness of commercial aspects of the clients businesses and impact on our work. Leading and delivering on engagements and assignments.
• Be able to adapt and tailor risk advisory solutions for clients.
• Contribute to the development of the Risk Advisory capability in Evelyn Partners.
• Be responsible for the client administration processes, including client take-on processes, managing firm risk and maintaining client billing.
• Building relationships with experts across Evelyn Partners to deliver client focused assurance solutions.
• Be able to manage delivering on a portfolio of work and balance and prioritise conflicting priorities.

Staff Management

• Play a lead role in supporting the building and development of the Risk Advisory team, identifying training and development needs and having a role in building capacity and capability.
• To delegate appropriate work and provide appropriate mentoring to more junior staff, aiding their development.
• Take a lead role on client engagement, leading and supporting the team.

Training and development

• Play an active role in personal development.
• To assess the training, development (and recruitment) needs of the team to support the internal audit, GRC, ERM propositions.

Key Competencies:

• Planning and organising - to ensure all client work is carried out within the appropriate timescales through continual monitoring of progression of the work. Management of a portfolio of client, to oversee the end-to-end internal audit or control assuranceengagements, from planning through to fieldwork and reporting.
• Technical expertise - strong background in core internal audit and related risk advisory methodologies. The ability to translate this into clear scopes and terms of reference and be able to oversee and lead on as well as deliver. To be able to answer staffand client technical queries and make technical decisions.
• Commercial awareness - to have a good understanding of the commercial factors affecting the client and to be able to monitor the commercial effectiveness of work done by Evelyn Partners by reviewing costs against budget.
• Teamwork - working as part of a team, but also demonstrating leadership capabilities, to ensure the department as a whole meets its objectives and all client demands are achieved.
• Problem solving - technical knowledge to resolve client issues and organisation to be flexible to meet client and director demands.
• Customer focus - ensuring clients expectations are exceeded, by providing a first-class service at all times.
• Business Development - ability to develop trusted advisor status with clients. Supporting and leading on the development of proposal documents.
