Job Description

Senior Management Accountant| 6 months | £45-52k| Higher EducationThis is an exciting opportunity to work for a well known University during a busy time on a 6 month contract (with the opportunity to potentially go permanent) and work on crucial reporting and process improvement. Working in a busy and dynamic team, predominantly remotely, this is a chance to add value to an already strong Management Accounting team.Key responsibilities

  • Lead on the production of the monthly management accounting
  • Business partner with department heads to help them understand their budgets and forecasting
  • Work closely with the Head of FP&A on improvement projects, casting a fresh pair of eyes’ on any inefficiencies or new policies/processes could take place
  • Provide budgeting and planning support for the department
  • Oversee the University’s Research department, identifying and managing various reports and compliance across this area
  • Provide financial analysis across the department including ad hoc project reporting
  • Work collaboratively with the team to progress with internal goals
    • Person specification
  • A chartered qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA)
  • Experience of working within the Higher Education sector in a finance environment
  • Ideally experience of working within a Research setting within Higher Education
  • Significant experience in a management accounting setting, working with a range of budget holders and leading on budgeting/forecasting processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong excel skills
  • A collaborative work ethic
