Job Description

Senior Linux Engineer - Public Cloud - Outside IR35Contract with one of the most interesting and well-regarded IT Service Providers in the UK. Opportunity to work on highly complex public cloud (largely AWS / managed hosting), infrastructure, on architecture, implementation and support (as a final escalationpoint).The Senior Linux Engineer contract roles available, offering £500 - £700 p/d DoE, both determined as outside of IR35.3 month initial contract with good chance of extension.What youll do:

  • Involvement in setup, configuration and support of Linux Servers (primarily RHEL and Debian),
  • Serve as an escalation point for both internal staff and enterprise-scale clients of the business in relation to complex support requests.
  • Assist with the architecture and build of cutting-edge solutions and products, with involvement in technical architecture reviews and recommendations.
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service and advisory to household name clients across multiple sectors (both Private and Public Sector).
What youll need:
  • Considerable experience in the implementation and support of Linux servers (ideally Red Hat and / or Debian distros), ideally in large-scale infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with most of the following:
    • Apache and / or NGiNX, MySQL
    • PostgreSQL
    • Varnish (monitoring via Pacemaker)
    • CRM Clustering
    • Kubernetes
    • ELK stack
  • Server Fault diagnosis via open-source tools.
  • High degree of competency in CLI, with experience of Linux control panels, such as cPanel and Plesk.
  • RHCSA (or equivalent level of experience).
  • Support of public cloud (AWS) infrastructure is desired, as is any exposure to config. management or IaC.
