Job Description

Role:Senior Java LeadLocation: London, UKType:ContractDuration: 8-12 months (with likelihood of further extension)Rate:£450 -£500 per day inside IR35Industry: InsuranceWe have an opportunity for a SeniorJava Lead for one of our clients in London, UK.The Java lead would need to have at least 8+ years experience. The candidate must be an experienced in working on NoSQL databases. The candidate should also have experience to deliver and maintain software solutions to meet business objectives through allstages of SDLC. The perfect candidate will bring experience, the ability to understand and scale up in very short time period, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, outside the box thinking, hard work, and a sense of ownership to the role.Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of major web application features
  • Create and maintain requirements/design artefacts and documents
  • Provide estimates and deliverable dates to help with the development of project plans
  • Maintain the codebase through refactoring and introducing newer, more efficient technologies and frameworks
  • Pro-actively identify and address web application security and performance concerns
  • Stay current with evolving technology trends and make recommendations for the introduction of appropriate new technologies into our application stack
  • Mentor junior team members and foster adherence to best practices in programming, testing, builds and deployments
  • Function as an integral part of a fast-paced and agile technical team
  • Interact closely with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and communicate technical design choices and limitations
Position Requirements include:
  • Strong skills in designing, implementing and managing high performance scalable J2EE applications
  • Proficient in Java (1.8)
  • Hands on experience in Webservices (SOAP/REST)
  • Knowledge/Experience on Integration tool - RedHat Fuse or MuleSoft.
  • Familiarity with Git and DevOps process
  • Experience in web application development using Java, JSP
  • Strong UX experience, with good command of JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks preferred
  • Experience with J2EE developer tools such as Eclipse, Jira, Bamboo, Maven, Gradle, GIT, SVN, etc. desired
  • Experience with no-SQL database preferably Mark Logic is a must
  • Familiarity with deploying to and trouble-shooting J2EE application servers, preferably on WebLogic and JBoss preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with Spring and other commonly used Java frameworks and design patterns required
  • Medium to advanced skills with Windows and Linus operating systems required
  • Desire and ability to adapt to new languages and coding standards
  • Should possess excellent writing, analytical and communication skills
  • Open minded to learn new integration tools and be able to apply Java skills to Integration development
