Job Description

As a Senior Java Developer (Oracle Coherence) you will work on a globally distributed referential data system based on Oracle Coherence, it used globally by many applications within the Global Markets domain. Requiring enhancements which can be in the formof new/improved functionality, reacting to audit points, regulatory requirements, or non-functional improvements related to capacity, redundancy and performance.Client DetailsMy client is a tier one investment bank operating in the financial services industry with offices in London.DescriptionMy London based financial services client is looking for a Senior Java Developer (Oracle Coherence) to engage in the following:

  • As a senior Java developer act as technical lead for Java applications developed within the team. Help define and govern development best practices.
  • Optimisation of the CI-CD pipeline using Dev-Ops toolsets (Jenkins, Ancible etc.)
  • Share skills and technical expertise with other team members.
  • Enhance continuous integration and performance testing frameworks.
  • Provide architectural guidance and governance for the development and expansion of the platforms developed at supported.
  • Ensure optimal performance and capacity monitoring of production systems with all release candidates tested against performance benchmarks.
  • Enhance/bug fix existing software and provide new functionality as requested by the business or internal IT teams.
  • Manage general software issues relating to data integrity, system performance, functional architecture and testing frameworks, etc.
  • Produce high quality code with supporting commentary and system documentation.
  • Ensure all development adheres to the defined architectural and development standards (TDD etc.)
  • Conduct peer/code reviews.
  • Provide 3rd line support as required.
  • Willingness to lean Oracle Coherence and AngularJS + ASP.NET
ProfileTo be considered for the Senior Java Developer (Oracle Coherence) role at my financial services clients site in London, the candidate must present evidence of the following:
  • JVM performance tuning
  • JPA
  • Strong test driven Java programming skills
  • Exposure to SQL on a relational database (preferably Oracle)
  • High level of motivation and enthusiasm
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of Dev-Ops tools such as Jenkins, Ancible, Sonar
  • Ideally a numerate degree/qualification (Maths, Computer Science, Software Engineering)
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Clear, accurate and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proactive and highly organised with the ability to prioritise own workload
