Job Description

Senior HR Advisor - P04 - Hackney Learning Trust- £28 per hourYour new contract

  • Minimum 6 Months contract - Starting 18 Oct 2020
  • 36 hours per week across a 5 day rota.
  • Payrate £28 per hour (Umbrella)
  • Job Purpose:
  • Work collaboratively within the HR team, providing support services to the Head of Human Resources and HR Business Partners and best practice HR advice and support to the Trust and schools as directed
  • Provide a high quality, comprehensive service within the Trust and to schools in accordance with agreements in place
  • Provide accurate and effective advice, guidance, assistance and practical interventions on people management matters including recruitment, employee relations, performance and attendance, in a timely and professional manner
  • Manage complex individual cases and transformational change processes, providing specialist advice and guidance in workforce planning and organisational design
  • Interpret and review HR policies and procedures accurately, keeping abreast of changes in employment law and the HR environment, and contribute constructively to the review and development of HR policies and procedures
  • Attend meetings and hearings as required, to advise and support the Panel or Management
  • Act as an initial point of contact for customers, dealing tactfully and politely with enquiries, researching and following up until resolution is achieved or escalating as appropriate
  • To assist effective and efficient, best practice recruitment process and procedure in order to recruit superior candidates for the Trust and schools:
  • Act as first point of contact for internal and external enquiries regarding recruitment matters
  • Responsible for managing recruitment campaigns, end-to-end. Meet Recruiting Managers from all levels to agree responsibilities and details of recruitment campaigns.
  • Co-ordinate and undertake the recruitment process including job evaluation, advertising and response handling, shortlisting, interviewing and assessment (whether in-house or outsourced)
  • Work supportively with the HR Team to deliver a best practice recruitment service
  • Administer offers of employment, pre-employment checks and contracts of employment in line with current agreements and best practice, following up as necessary
  • With HR Business Partners review and develop recruitment documentation, ensuring that all materials are up to date and the Trust and schools are portrayed positively
  • Attend recruitment panels as an HR representative, as required
  • Liaise with the external advertising agency, ensuring quality and accuracy of adverts, and that corporate branding guidelines are followed.
  • Process new starters onto the relevant E-Systems
  • Qualifications:
  • Full membership of CIPD; evidence of continuing professional development
  • Knowledge of the Education (or related) Sector
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Word, Excel
  • Up to date knowledge of recent developments in HR practice
  • Experience:
  • Provision of high quality HR service in a customer-focused environment
  • Good generalist HR experience; provision of advice on people management matters
  • Interpreting and reviewing best practice policies and procedures
  • Best practice recruitment process and procedure; representing HR on recruitment panels
  • Producing creative advertisement copy and updating recruitment documentation
