RPS is looking for an experienced Geotechnical Design Engineer, based at our London office, to take a role in the continuing success of our ground engineering and contaminated land operations. We specialise in all areas of the built and natural environment, shaping the future of our environmental, social and economic landscapesThe roleYou’ll be supporting existing and on-going workflow, managing your own projects and helping to develop new business. As part of our well-established, nationwide land contamination and ground engineering team, you will be working with our team of geologists, hydrogeologists, environmental scientists and geotechnical engineers, delivering on a variety of projects including: Ground investigations, ground engineering and geotechnical design for deep and shallow foundations, basements, slopes, retaining structures, earthworks and ground improvement as well as contaminated land investigation, assessment and remediation design. Your skills and experienceWe’d like you to have a PhD, or MSc (post graduate level minimum) in civil engineering or geoscience related discipline, be a Chartered Engineer or Engineering Geologist, with commensurate amount of industry experience and be able to demonstrate potential to appear and speak at committees, informal hearings, conferences and examinations in public. You’ll have an excellent technical understanding and solid experience in geotechnical and ground engineering projects, particularly in the context of development and infrastructure projects. A track record of working in a multidisciplinary project environment is essential. You’ll be highly competent in Geotechnical design for deep and shallow foundations, basements, slopes, retaining structures, earthworks and ground improvement with detailed knowledge of, and relevant experience in, SLOPE/W, SIGMA/W, SEEP/W, Oasys PDisp, WALLAP, 2D/3D PLAXIS.What we offer youWe will provide you with a flexible, friendly and creative environment to develop your skills and challenge yourself.
