Senior Financial Accountant Up to £85,000 plus 20% Bonus Full time office based Main Responsibilities:• Prepare statutory accounts for UK-based entities, ensuring compliance with external audit requirements. Collaborate closely with auditors (KPMG) and manage responses to audit testing.• Research and apply appropriate UK GAAP accounting policies for new or evolving business activities. Implement UK GAAP adjustments within unconsolidated companies using SAP.• Lead the interim and year-end SOX control audits, compiling supporting schedules, analyses, and addressing queries from KPMG. Coordinate document requests across the wider European business.• Ensure accurate and timely internal monthly corporate reporting to our US headquarters. Examples include benefit analysis, ad valorem taxes, and allowance for doubtful accounts reports.• Execute assigned month-end closing activities, encompassing accruals, amortizations, payroll accounting, currency revaluations, and ad hoc journals.• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, meeting corporate deadlines and standards, and ensuring timely resolution of open items.• Perform monthly reviews of accounting entries in SAP and account balance variances to uphold data integrity.• Undertake ad hoc statutory and analytical work to support the Manager of UK & HQ Accounting and collaborate on financial accounting team projects.Qualifications and Competencies:• Hold a degree and be a certified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).• Proficient in current UK GAAP accounting standards (FRS102).• Possess over 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial accounting and statutory reporting within a commercial setting.• Strong verbal and written communication skills, adept at simplifying complex financial reporting issues for non-finance stakeholders.• Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities.• Prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and excel in high-pressure environments.• Advanced proficiency in Excel & SAP.Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource Accounts Production software preferred but not mandatory.• Demonstrate integrity, a strong work ethic, and a sense of urgency in task execution and completion.• Embrace innovation by consistently seeking simpler and more effective approaches, leveraging technology to enhance reporting and controls.
