Job Description

Job Title: Senior Expense Financial Business PartnerLocation: London (Hybrid)Contract Length: 6 months (FTC)Opportunity Overview:Resource Solutions in recruiting for a Senior Expense Finance Business Partner for a 6 month FTC role with Aspen Insurance in London.The role delivers global expense financial results to the Executive Committee, segment senior management and underwriters, supporting the production of the annual financial business plan and periodic expense management reporting working with multiple departmentsacross the organisation, preparing insightful analysis to support the commercial decision- making process to identify opportunities and threats. Works in partnership with COO, Global Underwriting Product Heads, Group MI and the CFOs to drive the accuracy andtimeliness of MI and support in the production of the annual business plan. Aspen Values are demonstrated in the delivery and performance of the roleKey Responsibilities:

  • Lead the production of the expense annual business plan, partnering with Business Heads and Underwriting Heads to drive an optimised business plan
  • Lead the production of the expense reporting, supporting the Business
  • Heads to drive insight and help in the appropriate management of expenses
  • Collaborates and supports the Head of FP&A, the COO and CFOs on projects/activities, taking ownership and accountability as directed on
  • specific projects/activities
  • Demonstrates awareness and understanding of Aspen and segments strategy and FP&A activities through effective judgement and analysis
  • Delivers high quality analysis and commentary in a timely and effective manner
  • Positive stakeholder feedback, including segment executive
  • Collaborate and supportive in planning and delivery of projects/activities
Requirements & Skills:
  • Professional accounting qualification (ICAEW, ICAS, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Considerable experience in the industry
  • Considerable experience in an accounting role with exposure to segment accounting and reporting
  • Understanding of US and UK GAAP Strong technical understanding of industry concepts and financial information
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including the ability to utilise query functions
  • Some VBA skills with willingness to develop
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem solver, able to work under own initiative
  • The ability to work in a fast paced, time sensitive environment where meeting tight deadlines is critical
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
