Job Description

Job Title: Senior Engineer Location: London Corporate: Title Vice President You will be joining the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Technology team and will work as part of a multi-skilled agile team, dedicated to improved automation and tooling to support continuous delivery. Your team will work hard to foster increased collaboration andcreate an engineering culture. You will make a crucial contribution to our efforts to be able to release our software more frequently, efficiently and with less risk. Your Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Vice President, your role will include management and leadership responsibilities, such as:
  • Leading and collaborating across teams, team management, mentoring and teaching, discovering new techniques and helping others to adopt them and leading by example.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint review, Sprint retrospective meetings and taking part in software and architectural design activities
  • Developing & leading the development, testing and debugging/defect fixing for the assigned stories/bug fixes
  • Recommend changes to improve established java application processes
  • Create required documentation for the JIRA epics & stories
Your skills and experience
  • Experience of working in an agile environment, Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming (XP) or SAFe
  • Hands on experience of coding in Core Java, SpringBoot, Spring, Hibernate/JPA, Java Caching mechanism, Oracle database or Postgres, Structured Query Language (SQL), Joins, Triggers, Indexing and exposure across the Big Data landscape
  • Good understanding of web technologies, frameworks and tools, for example: Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), JavaScript, Angular, Bootstrap, React, D3, Node.js
  • Experience of developing cloud solutions at enterprise level (one or more of Google Cloud Platform, Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Attitude of owning changes through to production, designing for system reliability and no-touch production from the beginning, treating production support teams as equal partners in the products success.
