Job Description

Senior Employment LawyerVenn Group’s expert legal team is currently working with a Local Authority based in London, who are known for their excellent team culture and are recruiting for a Senior Employment Lawyer to join their department.Role details:

  • Full time
  • 3 months contract (with Likelihood to extend)
  • Hybrid – 1 day a week in office
Responsibilities of the Senior Employment Lawyer:
  • Provide expert legal/technical advice to colleagues , managers, and partner agencies
  • Provide precise strategy and legal Solicitor advice to Members and Officers – Including TUPE related issues
  • Establish positive key relationships as a Solicitor with clients
  • Be able to liaise with Managers/Principles on case related issues
  • Ensure all documents are kept updated on Legal Service cases
  • To lead and manage a team in a shared back office support service; the team will include lawyers, legal officers and support staff, and the Senior Lawyer will support the Team Leader in the delivery of a portfolio of high quality, solution focused legalwork in more than one discipline and across multiple sites, to customers in different organisations
The ideal Candidate will have the following:
  • Experience in dealing with Employment law matters and dynamic case loads
  • Substantial knowledge of TUPE related legislation and case law
  • Hold a current practice certificate
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx professional
