Though the advert says London this can be based in Edinburgh as well.The opportunityWe are seeking an experienced User Experience (UX) ,User Interface (UI) Designer with a proven record of delivering innovative solutions which address our customers most challenging business problems and opportunities. This is an exciting opportunityto work across Digital projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with mobile design work collaborating effectively with Product Management and engineering in agile and lean delivery methodologies. The candidate must demonstrate leadership, technicalcuriosity, and ability to partner with some of the leading technologists in the field of cloud computing.Designers will focus on visual interactive user interface design: how users interact with complex and highly specialized data, how users process an array of information, and ultimately how the product looks and feels.Your key responsibilities

• Understand mental models and build wireframes and prototypes in accordance with interaction design principles
• Apply knowledge about UX disciplines including information architecture, motion design, and micro-interactions
• Tell meaningful stories about users, with great presentation skills

• Manages and grows Digital reports including UX Designer and Visual Designer reports
• Generates and evaluates design concepts, assists with primary research and collaborates on research plans, demonstrating sophisticated technical knowledge
• Designs and facilitates team and client workshops, project phase and client goals
• Anticipates future project demands, identifies potential business opportunities on existing projects and scopes, plans and supports new business efforts, actively contributing to the sales process

Skills and attributes for success

• Solid understanding of UX design: Wireframes, Information Architecture, Usability
• Maintains a deep understanding of Invision, Adobe Suite and Sketch,
• Demonstrates a depth of technical knowledge through internal and external projects
• Digital Accessibility Non-Functional Requirements like
  • Keyboard Access and Visual Focus
  • Headings, images, Page Title and Language
  • Contrast, Colour, Appearance
  • Resizing, Magnification, Responsiveness and Navigation
  • Reading Order, Global Code, Structure, Meaning,
  • Touch: Touch interactions

To qualify for the role you must have

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, Interactive Media, Interaction Design, Human Factors, Cognition Psychology, Cognitive Science, Informatics, Design, or related field preferred
• 7+ years applied experience in user-centred design process for sophisticated products or services. Portfolio to demonstrate proven experience required.
• At least 3 years of experience in areas such as customer strategy, user research, information architecture, customer experience design, product design or other similar areas.
• At least 5 years of experience in leading small/medium-sized projects, including the ability to navigate scope, work with large teams and present ideas to clients
• Significant UX design experience in a web and/or digital product environment
• Applied experience and working proficiency in at least one area of user research or discovery. Example proven experience includes usability testing (remote and in-person), survey design, ethnography, metrics, personas, and journey maps.
• Highly skilled in information architecture, task flows, mental models, and conceptual design
• Ability to translate conceptual design into low-fidelity UI wireframes and prototypes
• Highly skilled in applying UI best practices and standards
• Experience crafting and delivering innovative solutions for sophisticated systems and domains
• Thorough knowledge of user-centred design principles and traditional design principles, with expertise in how to apply them within a visual design system.
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Familiarity with latest design tools such as Axure, Invision, and Sketch
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
• Online design portfolio for review

Ideally, youll also have

• Experience with pattern libraries and design systems
• Familiarity with user experience metrics and analytics tools
• Enterprise product strategy and design
• Experience working with Agile product development process
• Experience in financial or related industries
