Job Description

A fantastic opportunity is available for a senior cloud engineer to join a large software house supporting digital transformation for key clients. This role will be integral to help build and shape digital services for the public sector and will sit withina cloud advisory group contributing to a wide portfolio. You will be joining a team of experts in the business and technology consulting field meaning you will have access to a supportive team culture and a highly collaborative workforce. If you have experiencemanaging a team of engineers, enjoy strategy and working closely with colleagues to ensure client needs are met with the best solutions, this could be a great opportunity for you working on a large scale.*This is largely a home based role with ad hoc travel to a local hub and to client site when necessary*The responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Perform discovery for client requirements- understanding the customer, where they are and where they want to be
  • Contribute to the build of technical solutions, working alongside technical architects
  • Effectively manage and mentor a team, running sprints to help prioritise
  • Develop client relationships, instilling further trust with partners
  • Automation: building infrastructure with Terrform/Ansible/CDK
  • Use and development of devops tools to aid delivery of projects
What we are looking for:We are looking for a competent senior consultant/architect/engineer with excellent communication skills and confident in their ability to lead from the front. Previous experience managing a team, and using effective strategy to ensure the team are firedup and on track with their workload is essential. This role requires someone with a strong technical development background, working in an agile environment and with public cloud providers.Essential technology experience:
  • Linux/Unix/Microsoft configuration
  • Cloud- AWS/Azure/GCP
  • One of the following scripting languages: Python/Go/Powershell/Nodejs/C# or equivilent
  • Hands on experience with infrastructure coding tools: Terraform/cloud formation, ARM
  • CI/CD pipelining skills using Azure DevOps/CircleCI/Spinnaker/Jenkins or equivalent
