Job Description

Senior Buyer - IT and Services Category - Growing Procurement Team - Global Bank - North London/Home Working - £42,000 - £50,000 + Bonus + PackageThis global bank is a household brand in the UK and currently expanding their procurement team in order to manage an increased spend portfolio. Overseeing critical categories such as Software, Professional Services and Facilities, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for negotiating strong commercial agreements and ensuring supplier delivery. Working in a fast paced and demanding environment, my client is looking for someone with a track record of delivering procurement savings across indirects categories.What will the role entail

  • Working with category heads to design procurement strategies for spend areas such as technology, professional services, facilities and marketing
  • Taking a lead on the strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations for the categories - setting up robust commercial agreements
  • Working with the business to understand their specific requirements before going to market to bring on board the correct suppliers
  • Ensuring new suppliers are onboarded with contracts in place - working with business to make teams more compliant and improving buy in for procurement
  • Working with senior stakeholders across different business functions to help deliver against demanding time frames
    • What skills and procurement experience are required
  • Procurement sourcing experience across categories such as IT (Software), HR, Professional Services, Facilities and Marketin
  • A track record of personally delivering savings against your category spend and improving procurement processes within your team
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to agree strong commercial contracts
  • A track record of improving relations between procurement and different business units - with the ability to demonstrative a proactive and relationship focused approach to procurement
  • Ambitious and driven with a genuine passion for procurement
  • Degree educated
