It is designed to provide a consistent and effective risk partner for the business units and functions in the first line of defence. The SeniorBusiness Risk ManagerChange & Transformation and Marketing role is a newly created role within the Controls function. The role will cover our EMEA business and will report to the existing Director, Business Risk Manager EMEA.This is a first line of defence role which will cover all non-financial risk types with a particular focus on supporting the business to actively identify and manage mainly operational, reputational and conduct related risks within Change & Transformationand Marketing. The role will partner with the various Change & Transformation and Marketing teams in relation to risk management and controls and will be expected to collaborate effectively with risk colleagues based in the UK and elsewhere to support andpromote excellence in risk management within our first line of defence.The Senior Business Risk Manager, Change & Transformation and Marketing will need to have a good understanding of Banking Products, Change Management concepts (waterfall and agile), risk management tools, techniques and concepts to support the Change & Transformationand Marketing teams in identifying and assessing their risks and will be the trusted risk adviser to the Head of Change and Transformations and the Head of Marketings direct reports.The role will also be expected to work effectively within the Controls function to promote consistency, quality and value add to the business in everything that they do. They will also need to have a practical, common-sense approach and be comfortable undertakinga full range of activities.The RoleThe Senior Business Risk Manager will be responsible for, working in close coordination with the various Change & Transformation and Marketing teams to:

  • Deliver all aspects of the Operational Risk Management Framework and other risk management frameworks, guides and tools across operations.
  • Work with the Change & Transformation and Marketing team to deliver Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs)
  • Work with colleagues in the Controls function and the business to assess control adequacy & effectiveness
  • Drive remediation actions through risk events, risk issues and RCSA control deficiencies. Track progress, re perform tests with colleague support and escalate as appropriate
  • Develop and deliver regular reporting to the various functional heads in relation to risk management and controls
  • Monitor risk management and that the risk profile remains within agreed appetite thresholds
  • Monitor adherence to risk policies, standards and procedures
  • Drive appropriate and measured response to Internal Audits and Compliance Monitoring reviews
  • Develop and enhance Control MI for the Change & Transformation and Marketing teams, Senior Managers and the management meetings they hold as appropriate
  • Liaise with areas of the business to ensure that data is accurate and up to date for risk reporting purposes
  • Support senior managers with creating a culture of risk management
  • Provide value add, proactive guidance, support and advice in relation to risk management and control
  • Provide risk management training as appropriate
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Corporate Banking products and change management concepts (waterfall and agile) would be a bonus
  • Previous experience working in a controls, risk and/or audit function
  • Strong judgement and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prepare and present data in a way that is understandable to our business
  • The ability to work independently and challenge effectively
  • The ability to build strong relationships and demonstrate effective collaboration
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills (Microsoft etc.)
  • An ability to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of SVBs bank operations and products

  • Able to work across different teams to drive the right outcomes
