This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team tackling the biggest long term challenge the NHS faces, delivering the worlds first net zero carbon health service and responding to climate change. As part of the Greener NHS team, you will be uniquely placed to look across the health and care system, to better understand and reduce the environmental impacts of health and care and save thousands of lives and hospitalisations across the country. The Senior Analytical Manager is a critical analytical role within the rapidly growing Greener NHS team responsible for driving delivery of the NHS multiyear plan Delivering a Net Zero National Health Service. This commitment and multiyear plan reflect growing evidence of the health impacts of climate change and air pollution and recognition that it is not enough for the NHS to treat the problems caused by air pollution and climate change - from asthma to heart attacks and strokes - it needs to play a part in tackling them at source.The post holder will be part of a data and analytics team responsible for developing and implementing a data and analytics service that enables the delivery of a rapid transition to low-carbon healthcare across the whole system. Through the application of advanced analytics methods and tools the Senior Analytical Manager will build a unified and structured approach to collection of data, monitoring and reporting of progress and support to implementation at national, regional and system level. As part of the Greener NHS team, they will work closely with corporate and regional teams across NHS England and NHS Improvement, with local health systems, Trusts and other stakeholders, including other data and analytics teams. The Senior Analytical Manager responsibilities may include data collection, data and metrics framework development, monitoring and reporting progress and assessing impact, analytical product development, and modelling and analysis to support programme delivery.The ideal candidate will also demonstrate an understanding of the links between climate change and health and strategies to deliver a net zero health service and have experience of working in climate change and sustainability.We are seeking a highly motivated analytical professional who can build and manage collaborative relationships across the health system, including internal and external policy and analytical teams, providers and clinical experts. You will have highly developed analytical, data and technical skills, the ability to structure problems and develop appropriate analytical solutions. You will have experience of analysing and triangulating data in innovative ways, and adapting approaches to deal with ambiguity, deploying analytical judgement in dealing with complex problems or missing data.
