Job Description

Are you an experienced chartered accountant looking for a new challengeWould you like to work for one of the industry’s leading companies in the accountancy and professional services marketIf so they we may just have the perfect opportunity for you !The Optionis Group is one of the UK’s most successful professional services companies, and we are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing practice’s - First Freelance in central London.First Freelance is one of the several successful accountancy brands in our portfolio.Through our brands, we specialise in managing tax, employment, accountancy and legislative compliance for the UK’s small businesses and contingent workforce - our solutions are market leading, and we’re always looking out for the best possible employees.As a First Freelance Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a large portfolio of clients working as an individual and part of a team. Your main function will include:

  • Preparing annual accounts
  • Overseeing and managing junior accountants
  • Preparing Corporation Tax computations
  • Dealing with accounts queries
  • Interpreting accounts to clients if figures need explanation
  • Processing final accounts
  • Submitting annual accounts & CT600s to HMRC via iXBRL
  • Contacting HMRC if a problem arises whilst reconciling VAT, PAYE/NICs etc.
  • Personal Tax computations and support to clients
  • Preparing personal self-assessment tax returns
  • Dealing with tax queries and providing tax advice
  • Providing compliance and technical support to junior level accountants
  • Completing any other relevant ad-hoc tasks requested by the Team Manager
  • Skills & Experience:
  • Proven practice and industry experience is essential
  • Accountancy, tax and payroll experience is essential
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Hold an accounting or tax qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CTA)
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with a positive can do’ attitude
  • Hard working, diligent, consciousness and responsible
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise tasks to a high level of detail in a faced-paced environment
  • Self-starter and motivated to succeed
