SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to present a unique and rewarding role for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic 3-form entry primary school in Hackney. This position involves supporting a pupil in Reception with Autism Spectrum Condition(ASC) who is pre-verbal. The successful candidate will start in June and transition with the child to Year 1 in September 2023. Position: Support Assistant for Pupil with ASC As a Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing one-on-one support to a Reception pupil with ASC who is pre-verbal. Your role will be to facilitate the childs participation in classroomactivities, promote social interaction, and support their individual learning and development. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual support to the pupil with ASC, ensuring their safety and well-being. Help implement and follow the childs Individual Education Plan (IEP) and behaviour management strategies. Facilitate the childs communicationand language development through alternative communication methods. Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupils specific needs. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil,promoting their social integration with peers. Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular feedback on the childs progress. Requirements: Relevant experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or similar special educational needs. Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies. Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the abilityto adapt them to meet individual needs. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
