Job Description

SEN Teaching AssistantsGreenwichJanuary StartTimeplan is currently working with an outstanding all through SEN school in Greenwich, who are recruiting several specialist Teaching Assistants to start ASAP. All positions are full time via the agency.The school caters for students aged 2-19 with an EHCP for ASD, VI (Visually Impaired), PMLD and SLD. Each student has an individualised curriculum based on their needs and abilities. There is a strong community feel with teachers and support staff workingcollaboratively with therapists to provide the best education and pastoral care.Shortlisted candidates must have previous SEN experience, especially with PMLD and complex needs. You will be working in a class of 4-6 pupils providing 1:1 support. Due to the medical needs of students experience of PEG feeding and manual handling is desirable.Personal care is mandatory and a responsibility that must be carried out by all staff. Many students at the school have a visual impairment, therefore experience with Braille would be advantageous.The school is looking for dedicated and compassionate staff, who are willing to work to a high standard.   • Previous experience in a SEN or school setting
  • Experience with ASD, VI, PMLD and SLD
  • Willingness to complete personal care, PEG feeding
  • A current DBS on the update service, or willing to complete a new DBS
  • Full time availability
