Job Description

SEN Teaching AssistantsCamdenASAP StartAn Outstanding Special Needs School in Camden is recruiting several SEN teaching assistants starting ASAP for the full academic year via the agency.The school caters for 200 pupils aged 2-19 years old, with EHCPs for ASD, SLD, PMLD and SLCN. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills. The school is in a state-of-the-art building,offering a wealth of resources to both students and pupils.There are opportunities throughout the school, however you must be prepared to work across the key stages. The shortlisted teaching assistants will have previous experience supporting children and young adults with SEN, ideally ASD, PMLD and associated needs.Each class will have a maximum of 8 students, and you will work under the direction of the class teacher, while also using your initiative. It is imperative you can use PECs and Makaton. You must be prepared to take part in personal care, although trainingwill be provided.The school are looking for enthusiastic and energetic team players, who are consistent and dedicated to the students and school.Key Skills:

  • Previous support work within a SEN school or other child related experience
  • Degree from a leading university
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • One to one and small group work
  • Professional manor
  • Enthusiasm and friendly approach
