Job Description

Job Title: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching AssistantLocation: Southwark, LondonSalary: £425 - £475 Per Week (Depending on Experience)Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs Do you possess the patience, empathy, and dedication required to support students in their educational journey If so, we have an exciting opportunity foryou to join our team as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant in Southwark.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons and activities to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) and educational psychologists, to implement personalized learning strategies.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as required.
  • Support students with personal care, mobility, and social interactions as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the individual needs of students in a dynamic classroom environment.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.
