Job Description

SEN Teaching AssistantFor the new academic year, Veritas is looking for a teaching assistant to join our great team and work close with one of our SEN students in Key Stage 1.If youre an experienced teaching assistant looking for a new role, a dedicated carer, have experience dealing with SEN or a recent graduate and want to get into the education sector, becoming a SEN teaching assistant might just be the role for you.About the role:This teaching assistant role is based in an established and thriving primary school in Lewisham. They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic graduate or someone with experience in the education sector for September. At the school they believe that educationis the gateway to a happy life. Their vision is to provide pupils with the skills they need to progress successfully through primary school and beyond. The aim is to prepare children today for the lives they will lead tomorrow. The school want to grow self-confidentpupils, who are unafraid, analytical, forward thinking, and committed to engaging with their world.SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Assisting in the delivery of effective teaching on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in sensory work
  • Preparing classroom resources
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • You will be assisting pupils with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, and other Learning Disabilities
